The Dubai–Abu Dhabi commute is one of the most heavily travelled intercity routes in the UAE. Tens of thousands of people make this journey every working day — professionals, healthcare workers, government staff, construction managers, and students. The distance is approximately 140 kilometres each way via Sheikh Zayed Road (E11). At a standard office pace, that is 90 to 120 minutes in each direction.
Before structured car lift services, the options were poor. Driving yourself costs between AED 2,000 and AED 3,000 per month when fuel, Salik tolls, Abu Dhabi parking, and vehicle wear are calculated honestly. Public buses run on a fixed schedule that does not align with most private sector working hours. Ride-hailing apps were not designed for a 140-kilometre daily commute — the economics do not work for either party.
MB Car Lift was set up to fill the gap between “drive yourself” and “there is no practical alternative.” A shared vehicle on a fixed inter-emirate route, with a driver who knows the corridor, a price agreed in advance, and a schedule built around the passenger’s working hours — not ours.
Nine years later, that is still what we do. The business is larger and the fleet is wider, but the operating model has not changed because the commuter’s core need has not changed: reliable, affordable intercity transport on a route they travel five days a week.
